Some engines dishwasher running in one direction to force water through the spray arms to wash themselves. The engine works in the opposite direction to force water into the sink.

Sounds like the motor windings short-circuited.
I've seen it on other engines.
Are you sure that's what happened? Never heard of it. Usesr Get your manual and see if something is there, says .. If the motor rotates its cycle dishwasher ... What to do .. I saw my own (my tutorial) for my dishwasher and I found nothing on this problem.
